Delivered over 2 days this management qualification is specifically designed to give practising or aspiring team leaders a solid foundation in their formal development as a leader.

Programme Content

Workshop 1

Developing yourself and your own performance
Leadership at any level is a difficult art and we need to have a high degree of self-awareness to be good at it. Developing yourself is about improving your own performance and preparing yourself for future opportunities. Using John Adair's Action Centred Leadership Model, this one day workshop will help you to understand your accountabilities and responsibilities as a team leader; it will focus on how you should behave and what you need to do to improve skills and competencies in line with organisational objectives.

Workshop 2

Leading your team at work
Leadership involves setting goals and persuading and influencing others to want to work towards those goals. It involves motivating people to achieve more. This one day workshop offers some common definitions and theories of leadership and identifies the main differences between leadership and management; as well as exploring different leadership styles. The workshop also looks at the concept of empowerment and what is meant by a 'self-managed team' and participants will learn the skills needed to develop one.

Workshop 3

Motivating Your Team
Being Successful in business is seldom down to technical skills or knowledge alone. Getting the most from your team is the sign of a good manager and can lead to a successful business. The key to this is motivating people and giving them time and space to realise their full potential. This half day workshop offers a practical approach toward identifying the main factors that cause underperformance and motivational techniques which encourage a higher level of sustained drive, commitment and enthusiasm at work.

Assessment Assessment is through three reflective reviews.
