What we do
We help businesses and individuals close the gap between their performance & potential through a wide range of funded leadership & management development.
ILM Level 5 Award in Leadership and Management
The ILM Level 5 Award in Leadership and Management has been designed specifically for practising or aspiring leaders who seek real-world knowledge about how to drive their teams, as well as themselves to the next level by equipping them with the skills to overcome the potential pitfalls and challenges of the middle 'matrix zone'.
Workshop 1 & 2
Introduction to the role of a manager
This first module of this programme is delivered over two days, primarily focusing on the role and responsibilities of a middle manager. Participants will investigate a variety of different management styles and also learn the difference between vision, mission and value statements, as well as exploring how different corporate structures and ineffective communication can potentially impact on the business.
Workshop 3 & 4
Assessing your own leadership capability & performance
The second module (also delivered over two days), will provide an in-depth look at leadership theories and styles and will focus participants on the role and responsibilities of a leader. It is clear that in this current business environment, middle managers are under increased pressure to improve quality, productivity and performance with less money and less people; the ability to effectively communicate and motivate are two key skills for the leader to learn. This module will encourage leaders to specifically reflect on their own skills to communicate the organisation's values and goals to others, whilst implementing motivational techniques to build commitment to them.
Managing individual development
This module is aimed at developing the knowledge and understanding of managing individual development as required by a practising or potential middle manager. Participants will examine different learning styles and preferences as well as exploring the concept of perceptual learning. Participants will be introduced to a variety of learning and development methods including basic coaching skills; they will also have an opportunity to practice constructive and meaningful feedback techniques as well as investigate a variety of ways on how to effectively evaluate the effectiveness of the training.
This is a concise qualification made up of two mandatory units and one optional unit. In the first unit participants explore the nature of the middle management role and critically evaluate their managerial ability. In the second mandatory unit participants explore leadership styles within the organisation, the commitment and motivation of their teams and their ability to motivate teams to meet organisational goals. Participants will also be expected to complete a short reflective review on the final optional unit.
Delivery is usually over 5 days at a time and place convenient to you.
